Own a genuine piece of "Hekla Aurora", the Icelandair Boeing 757-200 that carried one of the most admired liveries ever applied to an airliner. Painted with the colours of the northern lights dancing over an Icelandic winter landscape, TF-FIU became a flying ambassador for Iceland itself.
Built in 1994 and first delivered to Iberia, the aircraft joined Icelandair in 2004 and went on to spend two decades crossing the North Atlantic. It received its Aurora Borealis livery in 2014 and flew its farewell flight over Iceland in October 2025 before being retired to Lleida, Spain.
Sections of the fuselage were recovered before the airframe was dismantled and taken to Cologne, where each tag was cut, punched, polished and laser engraved with its own edition number. Only 25,000 pieces exist from this aircraft.
Because the aurora livery shifts across the fuselage, every tag is different. Colours and patterns are grouped into broad categories only, so the piece you receive may look noticeably different from the photograph shown.

NG’s 757 mould is superb and there’s many airlines to choose from. The livery on this one looks great and has retro appeal. They come well presented in a premium box with stand and detachable landing gear. While QC is usually excellent, on this occasion the front landing gear was a little crooked and the stand was an extremely tight fit to the point where part of it stayed in the model when removed- managed to adjust both parts though and it doesn’t detract from what is a beautiful aircraft 🤩
