Deliberately plain on the outside in an inconspicuous combat gray, the true values of the newest member of the Special Air Mission Wing lie in its equipment and interior. Two A321LRs have been ordered to replace the rapidly aging A310MRTTs. As such, they will become part of NATO’s “Multinational MRTT Unit”, which is based in Eindhoven in the Netherlands, and has a secondary base at Cologne/Bonn Airport. This is precisely where the two planes will be stationed, primarily for MedEvac (Medical and Evacuation) missions, but also for normal troop transports.
