Description

An absolute rarity at Aviationtag!

The extremely rare cargo plane F-BTGV - a Super Guppy Turbine (SGT) built by Aero Spacelines - was built in the 1960s on the basis of the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser and during its lifetime primarily transported aircraft parts for the Concorde and Airbus models to the Final assembly plant in Toulouse. She is the first of only two Super Guppies to be used by the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, Airbus.

The Super Guppy with its voluminous fuselage was in service for almost a quarter of a century and took off on its last flight on July 1, 1996 to Bruntingthorpe/England. There she has been cared for and restored with a lot of love and dedication by the "Super Guppy Restoration Project" since 2009.

Only a total of five Super Guppys have ever been in the air and we are happy to bring the historic freighter home to you in the form of an Aviationtag!

Note: Every tag is unique. Depending on the plane, tags may vary in terms of haptics, material thickness and colour. Small blemishes bear witness to the plane’s long history and are an authentic reminder of its glory days over the clouds. Small scratches, flaky paint and imperfections are totally normal and give our Aviationtags their unique charm – the charm of a vintage product crafted from upcycled materials. These quirks are not the result of the production process, they simply reflect the state of the aircraft material we use when it was extracted. The original aircraft paint of this edition is rather sensitive, so please take good care of your tag!
