The Dash 8 has played an integral role with the Greek airline, allowing flights to and in-between smaller islands that otherwise cannot be served by larger jet aircraft. Despite her age, SX-BIP was originally built for US carrier Mesaba Airlines in 1992, she has fulfilled her role reliably since first reaching Greece in 2003, operating for both predecessors of today’s Olympic Air, Olympic Aviation and Olympic Airlines.
