It's a must for my UK fleet of models. Love this model. Goes really well with the other NG Model Jet2's!
I have recently began noticing a decline in the quality of Gemini Jets. I know I'm not alone on this issue, so I have been acquiring more Phoenix models over the past couple of years. Most of the time I have been blown away by Phoenix and their attempt at producing high quality, robust and beautifully detailed accurate models. So after recently travelling to southern Spain with Jet2, on the very aircraft pictured above, I thought it would be a nice Idea to purchase a model of the aircraft to add to my collection. When I received it in the post it blew my mind! Great detail, Nice mould and even physical probes. However upon further inspection I noticed some errors that to some collectors would be a real no no. First off and most annoyingly one of the probs under the aircraft was missing (not even rattling around in the box.) and secondly the rear left set of gears were not straight, rather just glued in at an odd angle. For me, is it an issue if it's only going to sit in a cabinet or be placed on a diorama? No they're only small defects. It would be different if I received the aircraft without its wings glued in properly (like some gemini models). I was willing to overlook this due to the attention to detail from Phoenix. So overall if it wasn't for the missing probe and the wonky wheel it would have received 5 stars. As it stands it only receives a 3.5 to 4 star rating. Will I buy another Jet2 737 from Phoenix? Probably, as they look great, especially if you're trying to build a (Manchester / Liverpool like) airport.
