A worthy rendition of an MD-11 freighter

The Limox brand is nicely detailed for the scale (1/200) more so than MD-11s from some other 1/200 brands. Is Limox a re-brand of Hogan Wings? I'm not sure, but like Hogan it includes the optional undercarriage (one of the main gears is quite loose so required a bit of blu-tac to secure it). The finish is superb, the paint detail is crisp, the panel lines on the wings are engraved rather than raised (I hate raised panel lines..), antennas are nicely represented on the fuselage, the fans turn on the wing mounted engines and the wings, horizontal stabilisers & fin all have a snug fit - quite a lot of pressure is required to get them in place, so be careful. I'm not sure that having rotating fans is of much value in a static model, but I guess it gives a little bit of extra detail in that the fan is a separate part and daylight can be seen through the gaps in the blades, just like prototypical high bypass jet engines. If you're an MD-11 lover and want a nice model to display, then Limox is recommended. Now, if only they produced FedEx and UPS versions!
