Adds to the realism if our model airport
They make the model airport look so real
Pretty much the only realistic air bridges on the market to bring your model airport to life. These can be extended to reach any aircraft parked up at the gate.
Comes with moveable wheels and turns to any angle to fit around the aircraft doors perfectly. A great addition to any model airport!
Airbridges. Herpa or Gemini jet's? 1/400 or 1/500?
Although there are a series of airbridges now released in 1/400 and 1/500, people often wonder which are the best to buy?
These airbridges are by far the most detailed, beating Herpa and Witty Wings (although they seem to be an almost replica of Herpa's). These are for 1/400 scale. The best features I would say are that these can swivel left to right, as well as extended from a neutral position to connecting to the aircraft for passengers. This is one (or two) thing that the Herpa airbridges don't offer.
Ideally, if you are going to use these, you need the Gemini Jet's terminal building to actually fit the airbridges into due to a small section that slots in. Alternatively, you can drill the correct size holes yourself into wood, plastic or another thickened material to keep them from pulling out easily. A terminal building is essential, no matter what it's made out or else the airbridges on there own will looks odd.
Not only do these airbridges swivel and extend, the attention to detail goes further with the chance to change the height, for narrowbody (lower) and Widebody aircraft (higher). The set, new, should come with stickers of airline log's that can be easily placed on. The stairs you see that are mostly used for ground crew and or cabin crew to access the aircraft (or upper terminal building) are finely detailed. The railing can easily break off due how thin and delicate they are. They can fall out of their very fine socket.
Positives:
- Most detailed pre-built airbridges out there
- Swivel almost 180 degrees
- Height can be changed for narrowbody and Widebody aircraft types
- Extendable
- Section that connect to aircraft body is curved
Negatives:
- Can be fiddly
- Stairs delicate
- Connection to terminal buildings isn't great, unless you have the GJ terminal/ drill correct size holes in custom terminals
