A piece of aviation history: Aviationtag Skymonster Edition!

This limited edition comes from the original aircraft skin of the only Conroy Skymonster ever built (Canadair CL-44-O "Guppy"). The aircraft was delivered in 1961 as the CL-44D4 N447T and was used in international freight traffic for eight years before Jack Conroy had it converted into the Skymonster in 1969.

We recovered material from the historic aircraft before teardown and processed it into high-quality aircraft tags in Cologne. The first Aviationtags are available in silver or blue – colours that come from the aircraft's original outer skin. Scratches, paint chips and irregularities are absolutely normal and part of the story.

During the conversion, the original CL-44 was spectacularly fitted with an inflated "bubble" fuselage, creating a gigantic cargo hold intended for oversized loads such as Rolls-Royce RB.211 engines – a conversion that has only been implemented once in the world.

Already with the Super Guppy (F-BTGV) we have immortalized an icon of this legendary guppy family as an aviation tag. With the new Skymonster Edition, we complete this extraordinary line – from the Super Guppy to the only Skymonster, both of which are now part of the Aviationtag collection.
